We have had some questions about the results of our survey, which indicated overwhelming support for uniting Wakefield Forest ES at Frost MS and Woodson HS. In order to clarify our results:
- 94% of respondents who supported eliminating the split-feeder at WFES supported sending all students to Woodson HS
- 6% favored sending all students to Lake Braddock SS
Through numerous posts, we have made it clear that between Options 2 and 3, we strongly preferred Option 2 because it was the least disruptive alternative while removing sufficient children from Annandale HS to relieve the overcrowding. We have also advocated for liberal grandfathering. We are grateful to Facilities staff for recognizing these valid arguments and including them in their recommendation.
It is unfortunate there has been so much frustration, anger and fear that our community became so fractured. Please, as we have said from the beginning, let’s begin the healing process, be civil and respect those in our neighborhoods who have alternate viewpoints.
